What follows are two very random things. One of a bro_omantic nature, the other one... I don't know what, actually.

One.

While Mesut is anything but short (slender, mayhap, but not short!), has buffed up nicely and I absolutely adore his suddenly very sculptuesque chin, this tumblr picture just really rams it home:

"Puppy-License" - Welpenschutz Defined.

Today I was having a conversation with

verses and

yeats after the match against Mallorca and the minor on-field scuffling that took place toward the end.

Cris, Benzi & Mesut. A big dog protecting a pair of puppies!

verses, who has made a minor study of Cristiano Ronaldo, noticed that there is something about Mesut that seems to make him one of Crispy's on-field weaknesses, so-to-speak. Since arriving at Madrid, Cristiano Ronaldo rarely gets into on-field scuffles. This has been especially pronounced over the past 12 months.

A Traffic-Stopping Performance: Mesut's Copa Del Rey (Away) Malaga Match Report & Spam!

A Night In Istanbul

Mesut, watching from the stands.

Mesut did not play in Istanbul. His Achilles tendon was still sore and the doctors would not pass him fit. Joachim Loew (as he put it himself today in an interview following the match) "will not risk Mesut with an injury under any circumstances."

A year ago this week - a comforting cuddle during the match against Turkey.

Dearest friend in the entire world Sami Khedira had the following to say in a very sharp interview with SportBild yesterday (entitled: "The Discussion Surrounding Me Is Lacking In Respect"). Unlike Mesut, who is a rather bland interview subject at the best of times, Sami never has a problem telling the scum in the German sporting press what's what!
