This community was created in October of 2011, went public on January 22, 2012, and stores all match-posts, feature posts, translations, important news articles, interviews, fan-posts, bromantic chronicles, and just plain fun stuff concerning Mesut Özil; attacking-midfielder and play-maker of the German National Team (Die Nationalmannschaft) and Real Madrid CF, formerly of FC Schalke 04 and SV Werder Bremen.


Anything originally posted at Özil's former LiveJournal community o_ozil between January 1, 2011 and November 7, 2011 is unfortunately not posted on the correct date. For that reason, this community's tags are very specific. Community Rules

1. This is an Özil community so please stay on topic for posts. Comments are fair-game though! We discuss pretty much anything, from members' music tastes to memories of our teenage years to random every-day nonsense. Come for the ears, stay for the company! Meet some interesting people, discover other similar interests and have fun!
This post here has a tutorial on picture and video posting for comments so go wild!


2. Please do not hot-link. Always upload photographs you want to use in posts and comments to a site like tinypic or photobucket first. If you don't know how to do that then please don't hesitate to contact jenny_jenkins with any questions at all. She's more than happy to help and has made up a tutorial to help you out. It takes a second and ensures that photographs don't go missing when they are moved from the original site and that we don't steal bandwidth.

3. Please put the majority of your post under a cut and limit pictures above the cut to somewhere around 500 x 500. Make use of the tags. There are many and they are very specific. They help other members locate posts.

4. We love a bit of fiction but this is not a fiction archive. If you have fiction and would like to post it on LiveJournal, please ask either lovinthelads or sashatwen for information on a suitable archive and they will be happy to help!

7. Be polite!


A very important note we wish to emphasize: your community may be run by Madrid and German National Team fans but the moderators wish to make it plain that all fans of all teams are welcome. If you are, for example, a Dutch, Argentina or Barcelona fan who loves Özil's playing but can't ever bring yourself to support his club, or National team, or both, then you are as welcome here as any other fan of Özil's. This is a happy, friendly Özil community for those who admire his playing for both of his teams, or for one of them, or just in general.
