Germany played Kazakhstan today, winning the match 3-0. The line-up was a bit unusual for the Germans. With Klose and Gomez both unavailable, they were required to play without a designated striker. Therefore, they went with the 'False 9' formation. Götze would assume the position of striker with Özil centered behind him, Draxler on the left and Müller on the right. That's about as much as I know about that... :)

Oh yeah. Trouble is - he didn't throw it away - or even to the crowd. He gave it to a very happy ball-boy instead!
The kids can be seen asking the players for their shirts, but since Mesut's was already taken, he gave up the Celta player's shirt instead.

In addition to discovering what an interesting, thoughtful, friendly and well-read group of people you are in our community friending meme (which is still open!), we have noticed something distressing! A lot of you don't know how to post pictures of, for example, Mesut's belly (or knees) into comments, and are unsure of how to go about it! Also: YouTube videos!

There have been two friendlies, and there will be another this week (with Mesut's national team, Germany, against Argentina). Here are some lovely pictures and gifs and a couple of Facebook updates, courtesy of our beloved
andriy_7Mesut first met up with Santos Laguna in spiritual home Las Vegas. Happily, Mourinho didn't allow him off the pitch and saw to it he was in New York to meet AC Milan!
I do want to start the spam (aside from posting Belly!pics to get you shameless hussies interested!) by strongly suggesting that community members check out the posts by
suzanne410 and skywonder9 just before this one. They were able to witness Mesut playing while in the United States, and their posts have lovely candid shots of our crinkly-eared hero.( Spare belly pic to keep you all reading... )

So many things to miss over the past few months! Not least: the sight of our modern-day hero on the pitch, looking bug-eyed and faintly distraught even though things are going his way! And of course, a little Crozil as well -

I've never posted anything before so I'm quite literally shaking here... but I figured we needed something to take our minds off the depressing, public-image downward spiral of the last few days. And it was only yesterday I said I wanted to be making fun of bathing suits!
I am assuming this one of Sami is recent because I don't think we've seen it before. The picture of Mesut is from last summer's vacation in Miami. I love that I know these things!
So... how does this happen? It was bad enough that Sergio was also wearing these same trunks last summer. But now... a third party?! And a year later?! It's not only strange, but those are oh so last season! How does this happen? I really want to hear theories on this!
Someone please take this down if it's old news, done improperly, or whatever!
(I don't really know about tags... just picked a few!)
