The wind, the commentator gleefully informed his viewers, was everywhere in the stadium, which is open on the sides. That meant that passing overhead was difficult (the ball simply swerved in very interesting directions) and even keeping the ball quiet along the ground proved to be a challenge.

This game was lovely from the point of view of any Madrid fan. For we Ozileris it was particularly so! Mesut was splendid, providing some of the loveliest assists he's managed in a white shirt thus far. Nevertheless, this was a difficult match-spam to organize!

For example: should the gif of Mesut's unspeakable backheel assist take centre stage at the top of the post? In the end, I decided that yes, it should. But it was difficult!

Normally, of course, one would place a post-match interview at the end of a match-spam, but Mesut's performance should get "top-billing" for doing such a nice job! And really, his shyness is so very charming - he looks and behaves precisely as he does when interviewed in German.
