Just look how happy he is with his achievement.

First of all, thanks to [livejournal.com profile] jenny_jenkins who came up with this idea to share about what Indonesian footie supporters think of Mesut in this community. I was intrigued by the idea and am very happy to do so of course!

Indonesia's Reader Choice Awards for the best midfielder of 2011 turned out differently from who the editor of Goal.com expected.

I hope you don't mind me only giving out summary rather that translating thoroughly.
As the result of the voting Goal.com Indonesia held, Mesut turned out to be the reader's choice of the best midfielder in 2011. He won 4,675 votes out of 15,804 votes (around 29.58 %). Though, in Goal.com Indonesia's internal voting Xavi obtained 136 points while both Andres Iniesta and David Villa obtained 100 points, and Mesut with 93.

Here is the list of the nominees:
1. Andres Iniesta (FBC)
2. David Silva (Manchester City)
3. Eden Hazard (Lille OSC)
4. Franck Ribery (Bayern München)
5. Mario Götze (Borussia Dortmund)
6. Mesut Özil (Real Madrid)
7. Xavi Hernandez (FCB)
8. Yaya Toure (Manchester City)

This Turkish-German midfielder increasingly becomes one of the respected midfielders in the world. Since his rise in the last WC, Özil offers the performance Real Madrid needs to compete with Barcelona in Premier Spanish League and Champions League. Currently his new challenge is to provide titles for Madrid and die Nationalmannschaft in Euro 2012.

That's all the news flash from us Indonesian supporters. I have one question though. I used to ask this kind of stuffs to a friendly local sports journalist who once confirmed that Mesut was once romantically involved with one Aida Yespica.

It's kind of hard to find a decent enough pic of her.

The source is pretty reliable since he's writing for a well-known football tabloid here, but I have never heard anything about this except from him. Anyone knows something about this?

Thanks in advance, I will get more updates in the future and I hope I can contribute more! :)

xoxo

Now this is exactly the sort of post I wanted! Gorgeous!

Can I just take a moment to applaud the taste and good sense of the Indonesian football watching public, because it is superb!

As for beautiful Aida, she has officially denied it to Bild who actually telephoned her up (last April, the be exact). Now in politics that would be mean it was true, but I think true love will have to wait a little longer :-)

Hint, hint -

Well exactly - just the thought of them kicking a ball around in his soccer-pitch of a back yard and having perfect 'baller children (one girl, one boy - for each of the national team).

Oh lord...

Well, at the very least, they went out to dinner once:

But she moved on pretty quickly (and one dinner does not a relationship make).

But for serious - check out her baby daddy. If she got to date Mesut and Mateo, she is one lucky lady:

She was VERY sweet when Bild called her up - she said Mesut was "a very charming man, but..." etc...

Famously - she met Berlusconi at a party (she's a television presenter) and he told her: "I'd go anywhere with you" - right in front of his wife. Cheeky old bastard!

And she didn't slap him or anything!

I find it very strange that Mario Gotze is being applauded by some as being on the same or even higher level than Mesut. That is pretty delusional I would say. No deny that Mario is a great and very promising talent but Mesut has already been a celebrated one, so that is simply absurd ... I've watched Bundesliga and most of Dortmund games, and there are times I have the feeling this whole Gotze craze mirrors Justin Bieber to some degree @__@ ...

Ikr? Getting tired of his hype. At least wait until he had a good WC. The same goes to Hazard.

Yeah, that's so true! A player's class is determined by his achievements first and then by praises from the fanboys/fangirls second, not the other way around. I hope Gotze will be as successful as (or even more than) Mesut if he's that talented, because that means more good for Germany. But until then, I insist that he's nowhere near the beast of a footballer Mesut is now.

I think Mesut's religion played a big part in this. But there's no doubting Mesut's huge talent either. :3

Oh look! My first post here. *coughs*
