Anyone else hung over?  'Cos seriously, yesterday was like the best sports day of my entire life.

Anyway.

THIS is Mesuty-ness for anyone who questions:

Translation (ish):

"I'm really happy."

"I worked really hard with the team."

"We won (?) and I'm really happy." (really)

"I talked a lot with the boss (mister) and I'm really happy" (REALLY)

"It was really important to win this week"

"Really good.  Kaka is my friend."

(I got fuzzy here- they worked hard and scored a lot of goals, I think)

"REALLY happy."

His Spanish isn't a whole lot better than mine, which helps.  Please do feel free to correct me.

Muy feliz.

MWAH

This is what I translated yesterday on my Tumblr. and OMG I love his spanish! It shows his shyness in a whole new level, plus he loves repeating "Soy muy feliz" hahaha <3 probably the first phrase he learned

Mesut: I am very happy, we worked a lot with the team today, We won… eh.. I am very happy, I talk a lot with Mister (Mourinho) and I am very happy. Today it was very important to win this game.

Very well, Kaka is my friend, in the training sessions we play together and we score a lot of goals in the training and also he scored a goal, I scored a goal (in todays game) I am vey happy!!!

No, your translation was pretty close, and LOL at the Mexican telenovelas, Mexican spanish (especially the one in the telenovelas) is horrible!!!
and Mesut's post match conferences usually follow the same script, but when he does them in spanish he just repeats Soy muy feliz at least 4 times, I really love hearing him in spanish :) (since I don't understand german)

Sometimes, in the dark hours of the day, I fear that he's like this all the time, even when there's not a camera pointed at him.

Then I watch this gif to cure myself:

Your new mini icon of him is definitely hotter, but I kinda miss the dorky old one.

He does have very distinctive "modes" though. Shy, dorky, fiery...

There's also where his face looks totally transformed and 15 years older when he's exhausted, with dark circles the size of Australia. You almost don't recognize him.

(I like it on him, too. But he's the only one of the team that it looks good on.)

Sami: Oh, just lounging on the couch, going easy on my ankle. How do you feel about a lazy Sunday?

His accent cracks me up so much when he's speaking Spanish. Even though I don't understand much he sounds like such a German LOL which makes me feel slightly embarrassed because I fear I sound similar or even worse when I try to speak Spanish. :P But I somehow think he sounded even more adorable when he gave his first interview in Spanish.

Every time a new poster appears in this community, an angel gets his wings!

And yes - the "music" (as Sasha would say) of every language he speaks is Turkish - and the accent is German.

Too adorable for words.

I hope my angel feels fine. :P

I find people who were brought up bilingually really fascinating. I know how his German sounds, I could not judge his Turkish though because he could as well speak Chinese, I don't get anything. *haha* But his Spanish is super interesting. It's like a little investigation :P

I was brought up bilingually - trilingually if you count French immersion in school - bilingually at home.

I've been told I have an odd turn of phrase :)

I don't mind. I wish I had no accent - but people think I'm English or Irish, never German.

I was brought up with two accents, that's weird enough for some people. My parents are originally from Romania, they were German immigrants though and they have this weird Austrian/Bavarian accent. And when I speak, people hear something odd, but I can't hear it. *lol*

My English is rather good as well and I once gave a TV interview in English and listened to myself. My accent was British, yet my "music" was German. It was an odd mix. :P

Wild stab in the dark here but I think he might be happy.

Spanish speaking Mesut is love. He always looks down like he's reading from a sheet. I find him really easy to understand in Spanish because he speaks quite slowly and his accent is not disimilar to mine (I also did a little German at school though he doesn't pronounce things in German quite how I'm used to. Might just be a regional accent thing.)
