So, randomness because I'm bored and awake at the butt crack of dawn nursing the stray kitten I've taken in, and I came across this series of tweets from Sergio:

Loosely (google) translated: "Good morning to everyone s. I don't think "parado" was being used as an insult - it just refers to the ball being "stopped," both when Mou decided to kick it (wtf??) and when he yelled at Mesut for not getting into the area in time and allowing it to be snatched up by the other team.

"Parado" means "stopped", but it also means "standing", which is the way Mou was using it to refer to Mesut. He said "parado" when Mesut didn't get to the ball. Later he said something like "parado con el balón al pie", which in this case he meant Mesut was "standing waiting for the ball to come to him." Basically he was criticizing Mesut for only reacting to where the ball was going instead of actively running toward it.

Sorry for the Spanish lesson, guys. Just wanted to clear that part up. :)

Also, nowhere in the video was Mou cursing AT Mesut; all of his "joder"'s and "caralho"'s where just at the situation, as well as the other explative. Most of it was tame, and I use that kind of language all the time (however I'm not a manager who is in the public eye 24/7, so it's different).

Your comment leaves me wondering if a lot of this situation is muddied by language barriers and terrible Spanish "publications." Way too much speculation and unknowns for me to make a judgment call yet. But it is great to see the Serzil bromance continue to blossom.

A LOT of this could be remedied by proper translation! The worst part is when the Spanish press publishes "stories" and the English/American press take it as fact, when they could have just looked at an interview, translated it themselves, and seen that there's a completely different situation going on. But that's the press for you.

The only good thing to come out of this is more Serzil!
