Date: 2013-03-01 01:33 pm (UTC)Rumor in France, it's actually Real that snitched him to the authority. He was caught by an automatic radar driving in an Audi rented by the club. It's rumored another Real player was also caught at 260k/h by the same radar (good god, hopefully it's not Mesut), but Real refused to give his identity making him go unpunished while they snitched Benzema. Not sure if any of those true.
Edit:
Rumor is Benz was racing that teammate who drove 260k/h. Hmm.. so why Real protected one but snitched Benzema? Though I wouldn't rule out press in France just milking it trying to pull out Benzema vs the world stuff.

Weird thing is I'm pretty sure this was when Spain eliminated Germany from the World Cup (damn you and your fabulous head of hair, Puyol!!), because Mesut and Sami look pretty upset, but then I notice when Miro's hands were coming down he's got his index fingers raised, which he usually does when celebrating, so now am all sorts of befuddled. Anyone can clarify?
I love Samisut more, but I appreciate Serzil greatly because it makes for some fun fantasy drama in my head XD

Date: 2013-03-01 03:13 pm (UTC)BUT this does make things more interesting, because Germany only played in black twice during WC 2010. Against Ghana and against Argentina, both matches they won. So, regardless of which of those two matches this is from, Samisut would have been in a state of euphoria, not despair, as both matches were significant for their progression in the tournament! So then, this here is a group hug of joy, not sorrow! :D :D

I was on doubt until someone else confirmed it, but I always suspected Klose because at the end of the loop you can see his feathery hair behind Mesut's head (Sami's hand is patting the back of Miro's head there), and I do recognize his arms. Klose isn't muscular and the skin on his arms at least is pretty thin, probably due to "age" (yeah, all, what, 32 years at the time? Apparently that makes his ancient in footballing years), which matches the arms in the gif ... Please tell me it's not weird that I notice stuff like this???

Maybe he is just overwhelmed by the joy of another goal (be it his or someone else's)?! But in that at that point in either of those two matches they didnt score...it says "noch: 0.47.30" which means theyre still in the first half...but around that timeframe there weren't any goals? (No i do not know this by heart, i wiki-ed the WC 2010 ^_^ sad to admit that i did not know of Mesuts existence untill EC 2012
which makes me wonder what i've been wasting my time on pre-mesutBut details aside...its just a splendid gif! Thanx for posting it!

Date: 2013-03-01 07:59 pm (UTC)Mesut scored the only goal in the Ghana match in the 60th minute. Against Argentina Germany were 1-0 up going into half-time; Müller headed in a ball in the 3rd minute. Didn't notice that counter in the corner. Wtf? So they just decided to have a random emotional group hug DURING the match?
