Mesut Wins His 100th Match with Real Madrid!

I want to doodle another 0 there...

Yesterday's win over Rayo Vallecano was quite significant for Mesut. He won his 100th match with Real Madrid! He has now played in 100 winning matches for the club.

But that's not all!

He is also leading in assists for Real Madrid in La Liga.

According to the Real Madrid website, this means he assists every 224 minutes in league competition.

You just knew I'd throw this one in, right?

BUT WAIT! THAT'S STILL NOT ALL!

He is also tied with Lionel Messi for assisting the most goals (4) in La Liga in 2013. Only he's done so in two fewer matches than Messi. (5 as opposed to 7) I'm told that's 0.8 assists a game. And well, yesterday he assisted twice in 12 minutes. So how do you like 'dem apples????

And perhaps the game went off course after those beautiful first 12 minutes, but what's important here is that the day after, Mesut received the praise and recognition we all know he rightly deserves for his many accomplishments. Well done, Mesut!
