Mesut and his teammates gathered yesterday for the 2012-2013 official team photo session. Obviously, here he is with Sergio and Higuain throwing up mysterious hand signs again. I'm not sure I get why he's holding up four fingers- Anyone know? And for those of us that study his hands, I'll point out that this is a perfect example of when his look like a toddler's to me. The only thing missing is the dimples on the knuckles. :)
Real Madrid's website maintainers thought this was such a beautiful shot, they decided to use it as the website welcome page.
As well as the lead image for the story.
And incidentally, this is almost a replica of last year's pic. Again with the four fingers!
I'm liking his hair better this year than last... fluffy, natural, and highlighted by the sun!
Here he is shaking Florentino Perez's hand. He seems to be using his manners and standing, despite the casual handshake. As Jenny always says, he's been brought up well!
Look how shiny and white his boots are. Like the first day of school...
The team photo included both the league trophy won last season as well as this season's Spanish Super Cup. Sad to see Sami and Mesut so far away from each other here... And I hope they took multiple shots because several of them have their eyes closed!

Date: 2012-09-14 06:46 pm (UTC)This will be the first time I am going to comment to one of your wonderful posts, even though I've been stalking this absolute fabulous livejournal since June. That's when I first got to lay eyes upon the beautiful phenomenal that is called Mesut Ozil.
It was during the Euros when I was watching the Germany-Holland game with some friends.
I gotta to be honest with you, the first time I saw him I thought he was a bit odd (scary even crossed my mind) looking ( so sorry!) and I wasn't the only one(but then we got all distracted because Mario Gomez took off his shirt haha!)
I still don't know why but some days later I looked him up on the internet, and (again)I don't know he started growing on me (also the fact that I found out he is magical with a ball didn't hurt either)
And that's when I found this community. And I started to notice more wonderful things about him; the cute awkwardness, t,he reall REALLY bad fashion decisions, the fact that he is still very humble and shy his beautiful face with al his emotions (his shy smile is my favorite) and his many many bromantice interests.
And then everything started going downhill from there..
At first I just looked at this site once or twice a week. Now I've come to the point that my day feels incomplete when I don't check it..
But on the other hand to find out what you and other members posted about Mesut and the really cute/funny/sad/sexy gifs is what gets me up sometimes in the morning
(I don't have a rough life I'm just really really not a morning person:p)
So I just wanted to say thank you very much!!
And I don't know the wonderful person that is andriy_7 but thank him as well!!!
And about the post:
I like his hair better this year, it's so shiny and fluffy and natural!
Also I've been doing a (somewhat creepy) study of his arms and I've noticed that he has blonde armhair. (there was an after match photo where you could see it really well) And I thought that it was very cute/sexy.
Oh and sorry about the long comment (my tea even got cold haha:p), if you're going to delete it I understand.
Gonna get some new tea now, bye!

Date: 2012-09-14 11:31 pm (UTC)Don't worry, you're not the only one that had that 'conversion experience' with Mesut! I was watching my second ever Real Madrid match and I was like, "Did that comm just call someone Avatar Eyes?" And then I had to find out who he was. And then I found this page.
The rest is history!
And this made me LOL:"(I don't have a rough life I'm just really really not a morning person:p)"
I KNOW THE FEELING. Sometimes I just lie in bed for 15 minutes looking through Twitter and LJ before I'm motivated enough to get up. :)

I can't remember first time I saw Ozil - probably during bits of Werder Bremen games when nothing else was on - but I remember the first day I REALLY paid attention - it was Hudson commenting on a national team friendly (2009?) against some unimportant team and saying he had "Xavi's eyes" (this was before "Avatar eyes" was coined by the same commentator!
And I thought - you know, he's beautiful!
And he is!

Because I believe he's one beautiful soul there and he deserves all the love and support we can give to him. <3 It's nice to find a living community for something I love.

Oh, and when I wake up in the morning... the thought that I'm going to get some mesuty (and preferably samesuty) love tonight, is all that is needed to get me up for the day full of work.

Date: 2012-10-03 05:05 pm (UTC)He's got the qualities to stand out in a crowd, but I mean I've always thought he's a likable character - it's easy to like someone who no-one ever (except an occasional journalist, lol) seems to have anything bad to say about. And if someone would, when you've gotten into them, you'd be like "No, they're not like that, it's just because..." ;)
