Mesuty News: Neymar likes Crözil, Werder Bremen Gets 1 Million,
Mesut Gets Some Competition (Possibly)

Neymar Likes Crözil (Who Doesn't?)

"If Neymar comes we'll let him
sit with us, okay?"

In the midst of praising 2012 player-of-the-tournament Andres Iniesta, Brazil sensation Neymar said the following:

"Cristiano Ronaldo is really good as well, and I enjoy watching Ozil of Germany a lot, too. He's a great player and I've always been a big fan of his."

Neymar has been linked with Madrid, of course. Good to know he has an eye for the bromantic already!

Werder Bremen Get a Payout

The early years

Part of Mesut's transfer involved an agreement to play a friendly this summer in Germany with his old club, Werder Bremen. Real Madrid have decided it would be more lucrative to visit the United States for their pre-season and skip the trip to Germany. They will not play and will pay the fine instead.

According to Klaus Allofs, according to Bild: "Real will pay a 7 figure fine..."

That means it is probably true ;)

Mesut Gets Some Competition, Possibly

The blue-eyed cutie in the photograph above is Luka Modric. He plays for Tottenham, but Mesut's enormous phalanx of Arsenal fans must not hold it against him if he comes to Madrid, which seems increasingly likely.

Almost all the Mesuty news this week has focused on his possible drop from Madrid's starting line-up if Modric comes. Modric plays as a defensive midfielder and as a number 10.

Most of what I've been hearing concerning Modric is a transfer to Chelsea, which is where he needs to go because I'm sorry, but he's not a fit for Team Pretty.

Haven't heard that Chelsea have bid for Modric yet. Real Madrid and PSG are the only ones in the picture right now.

Seriously, Mesut would have to make way for Luka Modric? Is he really that good?

The only reason I'm withholding myself from saying no to modric, he could be another ozil. Does remind me of him.

Oh he also barca fan boy like ozil was..

No thanks to Modric. The alarming part is how plausible this rumor actually is, because it's exactly the kind of thing RM would do.

Oh, and if Madrid is just handing out millions rn, could they throw some of it my way, please? Thanks.

If I was gonna make a Ballotelli-type t shirt I would show it to Flo and it would say "WHY ALWAYS MIDFIELDERS?" Why can't they make their glamour signing somewhere we actually need it? Right-back, maybe???? (I know, I know. Because Lahm is too Bavarian to function and won't come. Boo.)

Neymar knows...

Let's all stand up and give a clap to this young and talented Brazilian boy for being such a wise boy..he for sure knows what a super class
player is.

I'm sure Mesut approves his comment.

The Modric thing is still an uncertain issue. Tottenham says they don't want to sell it but at the same time they say they want 40 millions for him but Real Madrid offers 35 and Carvalho and no more...but the Spanish media insist that if Modric comes to Real Madrid he will not be in the starting line - up.. for sure and that the whites should buy a player that plays every single match...like Silva. Everyone in Spain loves Oezil and they say that It is impossible to drop him from the Starting line-up.and tbh I totally agree..

I read after season article about Real madrid, with rating of players, and Mesit definitely was in Top 3 of all players, maybe even second behind Cristiano Ronaldo. So I don't think it will be easy to replace him.
But articles like that make me worry. Is he loved by spanish public and Real fans? I Know Barca fans grudgingly respect him, heh.

I read very interesting article by british journalist about this disconnect between world-wide fame an love of fans, especially fans as notorious as Real Madrid fans. There was comparison between Ronaldo, who is so very famous and such an attractive media person, but according to author of this article (I don't know if it's true or not), Real's fans are still little cold about him - and Ozil, who became darling of most vicious Real fans without even really trying. It was interesting read.

Sahin, granero, khedira, xabi, modric, ozil- for 3 spot, make sense but that means we sold lass, altintop, gago (all will be sold) AND kaka.

Selling kaka is more difficult than buying him, at least for Madrid it is.

There is one rumor link gago with united, good for him and united if it's true.

Sorry rant on Madrid activity on crinkly lol

Btw nobody dared to bench ozil, not even the special one ;) Madrid fans will rage lol oh well may be in easy game it's ok haha

I remember several times in the first half of last season where he was benched so that Kaka could get the start. And when it clearly seemed to affect his confidence while on the pitch, that's when all those nasty rumors began about him leaving mid-season for Liverpool or Manchester United. It was my lowest moment in my (short) football-watching life. And I was raging! I know these things are a part of life and ultimately, business, but to see his talent and abilities questioned, and then his confidence toyed with, it was painful.

This Modric thing seems pretty serious... But I'm refusing to worry that it'll negatively affect Mesut. Maybe they can be used together in a way that didn't work with Kaka. I don't know him well enough to know if this is a possibility, but it's simply what I'm telling myself. I don't want to go back down that dismal road!

I don't remember he was benched, rather he was being used differently, play out of position, more withdrawn role sometimes. Yes rotation a bit with kaka but still plenty game time.

If modric do come, ozil possible be play wide. It could damper his game though, I agree.

Tbh few people would agree to modric signing since we already have Nuri. Damn it nuri get yourself together now, madrid wait for no one. Oh well.. :(

Oh don't worry about rumors of him leaving or something like that, Madrid fan adore him.

I have the same feelings about Nuri... I was so excited to see him come and then so disappointed that he never really got to play. I know he had to deal with those pesky injuries in the beginning, and maybe that set the course for the season. I'm hopeful he's used more this season and finds his "Madrid-legs". I'd rather him than Modric. :)

IKR sigh Nuri..
He supposed to be that missing link, then the injury :( I think it because we take him away from bvb, a bit guilty there lol

I don't believe for a second that Mourinho would drop Mesut - who is arguably one of Mourinho's favorites, from the starting lineup for a new player. That's ridiculous and the fans would cause an uproar.

I don't understand this transfer season because we're once again buying players we have no need for. We don't need anymore midfielders, we have some of the best in the world, why do we need Modric? We need a defender, why aren't we in the market for one UGH

Modric's transfer issue is pretty much everywhere now. It doesn't scare me though, Mesut knows well what he needs to do once he get that shisha out of his system would start to listen to both of his dads who are persistent on his improvement on being more selfish a striker. I think I blame that shopaholic part of RM--wait, no. I'll blame Serdar on this.
