I remember during the league clasico (Mesut was beyond-brilliant) him getting carded and Ray Hudson asking "Naaaah! Can Ozil even tackle?"


Answer: nope!

He learned football in a "monkey-cage" with no grass - that's what he did! Lots of ball skills. No tackling...

Downloaded and am watching the Real v Barca match with Hudson on commentary (I watched it live on Dutch TV with boring Dutch commentators) and I can't stop laughing. Match is still intense but Hudson is a riot! Compared Mesut to a whippet (that's a new one for me) and Real's "precious jewel". Am sorely tempted to do a Hudson post of nothing but his quotes. If no one's published a book yet containing his expressions then it's about time the publishing industry get to work on that!

Lol at the 2nd gif. That could happened, I remember it happened before when he fell on the ground after failing hard to tackle Busquets in one of Clasico last year, I think it's the same match where Iniesta also fell when trying to tackle Mesut who made a run through the flank.

His tacking skill is below average, but at least in last 2 season he tried more and more and sometimes (if lucky enough) successful.

Yea, that was pretty cool. Alba and Pique outnumbered him, he tried his best to keep the ball he just recovered, shame that nobody around to give support as passing option that he had to force a corner out of it. Love how calm he was when doing it.
