Yes, he looks adorable on that couch, which also looks super comfy ...

But am I the only one who:
1) Studied the reflection to get a good scope of his living room, and
2) Started mentally refurnishing it to my specifications? Proper drapes and a potted plant immediately spring to mind. And where do those white double doors lead to? And how would he feel about astrip dance pole in the corner ... ?

Date: 2013-02-20 10:08 pm (UTC)Not gonna lie that Barca losing kinda brightened up MY day, but at the same time I'm also oddly disappointed. I don't watch a lot of Barca unless it's against Real, but I was surprised to see how subdued they were against Milan's defense. Didn't think it was even possible to cage them like that. And then Puyol got his head busted :( :(
Here, maybe this might make you feel a bit better ... ?
Mesut doesn't want you to be sad! :)

Date: 2013-02-20 10:14 pm (UTC)I had a friend here and was only half paying attention to be honest. BUT I have to say that Milan's defense was excellent from what I saw. They're not perfect, and sometimes teams just unlock the secret and defend against them in a way that they can't get even a shot off. What, they had like 2 shots tonight??? It happens.

Milan have lost all their brilliant players, are struggling financially, desperately need to refurbish their stadium, and have had a difficult season. And now they are very happy. And at least it wasn't unfair (because when you play better and still lose it feels awful - like Celtic vs Juve) - the match reports say they played markedly better. Think of how Celtic fans are feeling.
And anyway - this is good news for Mesut ;) (Because we have to meet Manchester and Barca twice - and if they had a huge advantage in the CL over their opponent they could have steamrollered us!)

Date: 2013-02-20 10:24 pm (UTC)Barca lose - Milan go through.
Barca must win.
Here is how it breaks down:
If Barca want to advance outright they have to win 3-0
2-0 and it goes to extra time and possibly penalties.
3-1 to Barca and they are tied on aggregate (4-4) but Milan goes ahead on away goals.
If Milan score, in other words, Barca need 4 goals to advance and can't concede more than once (they'll go through if Milan score if they get 4-1).
This is why away goals are so vital in this competition. They can win 3-1 and they'll still not go through on away goals.
It's Barcelona, so it's not unthinkable. They'll have to really attack from the get-go. But they can do it.
Still, Milan will be thrilled.

Date: 2013-02-20 10:25 pm (UTC)And I've followed Milan's difficult situation thanks to
And, TBH, my first thought was, "All the better for Dortmund if Barca are out of the picture."
I'm slowly working through my conflicts of interest.

Date: 2013-02-20 10:33 pm (UTC)i like barca and i have weird unlimited faith in the players' abilities. sorta like the spanish national team. if it weren't barca i'd say that things are looking pretty bad, but this team can do this. they'll be playing at home! come on!
[also, yep, better for dortmund if they're out. win-win ;-)]

Milan fans will remember this match forever! My cousin was at San Siro and said he saw grown up men with tears in their eyes at the end of the match! As Jenny perfectly explained, we have a lot of problems and this unexpected 2-0 means much more to us than a victory in a CL game!
However, as our captain Ambrosini said, we've haven't done anything yet, we're talking about Barca! The risk for us is to be overconfident.

Date: 2013-02-24 06:50 pm (UTC)See! You know just how to tug on my heartstrings! I can be happy for those fans and disappointed for my team at the same time. I wish I could figure out how to be ruthless, but it's obviously just not in the cards for me. And to be honest, I was imagining your happiness during the game as well!
But you and everyone else are right... This is Barca. It's an uphill climb, but a challenge I think they are up to.
Congratulations in the meantime! ;)
