crinkly_earsMy opinion: Bild has created an entire article out of nothing new + 1 picture and a random quote from two years ago plus some charming gossip they probably manufactured out of thin air.
But who cares?!
Let's enjoy this glorious romantic moment while we all hope the two adorable young people are attached...because if it's not true, this entire community will be cast back into the romantic darkness of the past two years (*sob*) and will have to make-do with bromantic attachments.
Which is not so bad...but I'm sure we all agree that BOTH are better!

Why HER Mesut? For two solid years the Real Madrid player has been single. Mandy is his first proper girlfriend since Sarah Connors Sister Anna Maria. She was lately together with the rapper Kay One.
Bild has learned* that he was the one who initially sought her out, getting her phone number from friends. At some point, she fell for him too, say people who are close to them.**
What have they got in common?
Mandy seems a family-oriented person, just like Mesut. Both of them eventually want to start a family. Mandy said recently: "I'd like to have at least one child with my husband."***

Incidentally, they've interviewed the mysterious Kay One (no offence to fans of the genre, but I don't know a thing about rap) and it would appear that they got the information from him that Mandy first heard from Mesut in September - "but she said he wasn't her type..."
Well - I'm sure we in this community understand one thing: his charms need time to be appreciated ;)

Date: 2013-01-17 03:45 am (UTC)It's a messy (and now I look at it, faintly incomplete) translation for: turteln verknallt in Madrid, bummeln verkuschelt durch die Stadt, in der er ein Megastar ist.
Turteln - strolling.
Verknallt - infatuation (not quite love - but something better than attraction)
Verkuschelt - it's practically untranslatable, but I liked canoodling. You could say "cuddling" or "snuggling" too.
Too bad there aren't any pictures of them actually doing this, of course (we live in hope!) - LOL Bild!

Here's a video (one minute long) of his dribbling on Tuesday - the most gorgeous stuff I've seen him produce all year.
I was completely floored by his performance - and then I found out that evening he could be in love and all was made clear!!! Of course he would play brilliantly! Stands to reason!
Do you think giving her a tag would jinx it????

He was GORGEOUS - I was so in love with the German team in 1990 - but Illgner is just a stunner! Look at this sweet and handsome face!

Date: 2013-01-18 02:49 pm (UTC)i was five then, and reunification and the world cup are my first memories (well apart from like childhood stuff, like first-day-of-kindergarten. they're my first 'public event' memories). my favorite players were matthäus, maradona and bodo illgner, but illgner just because i liked the sound of his name and the color of his jersey (weird design in purple, you remember??). i actually remember "designing" little germany jerseys for my stuffed animals (and one for my dad). it was a good time.
that's also when my weird emotional attachment to the team began. i dont think i could have been as deeply affected by their brutal 0:3 loss in '98, hadnt it been for 1990. :-)

And I'm always left bitterly (if not inexplicably) disappointed when it turns out it isn't the same person.
But hooray for Mesut making the first move! Yes, mind, Bild might have just pulled that out of their gossiping asses, but it's still a nice thought. Everyone always says how terrible shy Mesut is, so presumably he isn't the king of chat-up lines, which makes his pursuit of contacting her sound all the more bold.
