Mesut loves Atleti! They are his favourite team...for scoring against :) Highly appropropriate of him to have picked our derby rivals as his favourite victims!

Here are some final nice pics of him getting love from his teammates (most of it Portuguese love!) but first I found Youtube footage of all of Mesut's goals against them over the past two and a half seasons. He has scored 4 goals and I'd like to share them with the community!


First goal - free kick, October 2010.

Second goal, Copa del Rey quarter-final first leg (this video shows the full highlights. So Mesut's assist for the 2-1 is at 2:30 and his goal starts at 3:45)

Third goal - 2 months later, Mesut scored the 2-0 against Atleti in the league, away

And finally, yesterday, the 2-0.

Coentrao got to Mesut a little late - he'd been off to the side monopolizing the love of his life, Cristiano Ronaldo, to congratulate him for the slick assist! He and Mesut have always got along very well though, so he ran up to congratulate him a bit later.

And finally, of course, even though he was crowded out of the group hug by a certain Sergio Ramos (who wants Mesut all to himself) - Sami stuck around faithfully for a final bit of love <3
