I just rewatched the match (because that second half was amaaaaazing), and I have no idea how I missed it the first time 'round when Sami went over to defend Mesut after he was fouled. I am not ashamed to say I aww'd out loud <3

It was so sweet. Sami had a way to go to get to him, of course, which means the moment the guy touched Mesut's face he began racing over - that was adorable.

He told the other player off too - that was sweet.

And then Mesut set up Klose's goal from the free kick that was awarded - that was awesome.

Is this really how they regularly pronounce Mesut's name on ESPN? Cause that is atrocious! Especially since I assume that was a simultaneous interpreter. He should know better, after all, he heard him speak! :D

It's American, so I don't know, but I've heard ESPN is awful - and their lead commentator Tommy Smythe has a dislike for Mesut at Madrid. He spent the whole of Mesut's first season saying things like "Ozil will obviously be leaving the Spanish Liga in a year or two. Hasn't adapted at all...Isn't as good as he is for Germany...etc..."

How is the translating muse going oh lord i said i wouldn't ask and maybe she's still on her trip or something whatever

I watch ESPN, FOX Soccer and GolTV and they all pronounce it differently... but now you're giving me a complex! I'm not sure how to say it (scream it?!?!) if ever he walks past me. LOL

I was thrilled last week when I found this video of him pronouncing it himself (which by the way is exactly how I say it! Go me!).
