It's The Year Of The Dragon & The Community's First Public Day!

Welcome to all new members!

Love slick assists, sheer-playing intelligence, sweet-natured hard-work and a wicked left foot in your football players? You've come to the right place!

And if you didn't know that Mesut's hair smells like strawberry scented shampoo (it does!) or that his favourite movie is "Hangover"
(there's no accounting for tastes!) or that he has a pitbull called Rocky - then plainly this community is lacking in your life!




Today is the community's first public day. I believe we have chosen an auspicious day for two reasons.

The first is that it is the Chinese New Year! The highly auspicious Year of the Dragon is upon us.





The second is that by a happy coincidence Mesut - born in October of 1988 - is also a Dragon!

I'm here! Hello to all and thanks to baby Jenny for notification! Hopefully this community will have long future with many party posts celebrating every new title of our favorite player.

Btw Mesut was amazing yesterday. Lol.com of course think he was quiet. (I don't think the referee would agree). What did Ray Hudson say if he commented the game? :)

It's sad that it's gone, but we should be grateful to the moderators who used to run it for letting us have so much fun there for a year! That was a lovely community and they did an impeccable and tactful job of running it.

This was an experimental archive only two days ago - posts were put here for storage and were posted here first to work on cuts, spacing, grammar, spelling, translation grief etc...

So it was ready to go, as they say!

Now then - I do believe we could come to blows over this - but I am quite sure I am the first person to ever note Mesut's crinkly ears - don't tell derbis though (she has this weird delusion that she noticed first...)

But I am definitely the person who first noticed that Lukas Podolski can't resist them (http://crinkly-ears.livejournal.com/5264.html)! And he really, really can't!

But then, who doesn't want to nibble on Mesut's ears?

On the other hand, it was admittedly lovinthelads who came up with the idea for a community name.

Great work yet again Jenny! I have been a lousy commenter, but checking the site is like a ritual. Going to be exciting to see what you/we can come up with here. :)

The year of Mesut indeed. This morning in the radio they said that the people born in the year of the dragon are perfectionists, creative and determined. That's Mesut! Apparently every parent would want their child to be born during the year of the dragon and they are expecting a baby boom in China this year.

It's only 30 seconds long - go and listen to it. Based on his comments, I'd say some of it may be true - or at least, the wagons are circling.

I've no doubt it happened. I've no doubt it happens at all clubs. What is interesting is that it was leaked.

That community has been retired unexpectedly by its moderators.

This WAS my storage site for all my posts. Other posters from the original comm have been re-posting their entries here.

So the same in that about 90% of the content was salvaged but different in that it is a new community with different moderators.
