Brush Your Hair, Shine Your Shoes... It's Picture Day!

Mesut and his teammates gathered yesterday for the 2012-2013 official team photo session. Obviously, here he is with Sergio and Higuain throwing up mysterious hand signs again. I'm not sure I get why he's holding up four fingers- Anyone know? And for those of us that study his hands, I'll point out that this is a perfect example of when his look like a toddler's to me. The only thing missing is the dimples on the knuckles. :)



Real Madrid's website maintainers thought this was such a beautiful shot, they decided to use it as the website welcome page.

And incidentally, this is almost a replica of last year's pic. Again with the four fingers!

I'm liking his hair better this year than last... fluffy, natural, and highlighted by the sun!

Here he is shaking Florentino Perez's hand. He seems to be using his manners and standing, despite the casual handshake. As Jenny always says, he's been brought up well!

Look how shiny and white his boots are. Like the first day of school...

The team photo included both the league trophy won last season as well as this season's Spanish Super Cup. Sad to see Sami and Mesut so far away from each other here... And I hope they took multiple shots because several of them have their eyes closed!

I was hoping some of the individual photos would have been released by this morning but I haven't seen any yet. If and when I do, I'll add them here!

"Xavi's eyes"?? I hope this was a metaphor for his midfielding prowess or something, because I don't see it.

Misprint: it was "Xavi's eyes" - and yes - it was a reference to his incredible vision!

Ray ADORES Mesut. I miss him the most now that BeIn sport has the rights to the game. He's probably exclaiming about Avatar eyes and I am missing it.

Xavi's "Ray nickname" is "Chameloeon-eyes Xavi!"

I seriously miss having football on my TV. But now I've just come to accept that no matter what sport I follow I'll have to watch it on crappy streams. It's quite liberating once you accept it.
