Mesut and Sergio's bromantic affinity for matching bathing costumes is well known! Apparently, they share another characteristic! Every goal Sergio Ramos has scored since November 2010 has been launched off the boot of Mesut Ozil from the corner flag!

Sergio Ramos' last five goals came from Ozil corner-kicks

Sergio Ramos has tallied the most goals from corner-kicks in La Liga, topping the ranking thanks to his header against Getafe last Saturday. He is the most dangerous player for defences in set pieces this season.
Ramos' last five goals came from Ozil corner-kicks. This season, both connected against Valencia at Mestalla to score the 2-0 strike in favour of the Whites; in Granada they tallied the 2-1 draw breaker; and they connected again to score the only goal against Getafe last weekend. Zaragoza and Sevilla were their victims last season. The last time Ramos scored from something other than a headed in Ozil ball was on 20 November 2010: the 3-1 penalty against Athletic Bilbao in Week 12.

It's a good thing Sergio Ramos won't have Mesut Ozil along for the trip to the Euros - though if he wants to show off his ability by heading in an own goal during the final against Germany for kicks when Mesut works his set piece magic - you go right ahead darling!

Awwwwzil!

Together they have served more assists than 18 teams in the championship
Margarita Perez / Translation by Michael J. O'Donnell
Real Madrid's 47 assists in La Liga allow them to top the ranking over Barcelona (37) and Athletic Bilbao (23). Angel di Maria and Mesut Ozil have played a key role in this, with 13 and 11 assists each, respectively. Their combined 24 assists are more than those served by 18 teams in the competition.
Di Maria tops the individual assist ranking. He has needed only 948 minutes in 14 games to serve 13 assists (one every 73 minutes), finding in Cristiano Ronaldo the perfect receiver in five of these goal passes.
Ozil is the runner-up in the ranking, having had an impressive start in 2012 with six assists in the team's last five league games. He has made 11 goal passes in 1,411 minutes of playing time, or one every 128 minutes. Karim Benzema has benefitted most from the German's passes.

Some lovely stats, I'm sure we all agree! Most especially the ones about the good start to the new year. It has not been a particularly brilliant season for Mesut yet in the league (though his Champions League and National Team form are better than ever) - compared with last year for example. He's putatively the team's play-maker but shares minutes with others, is routinely played on the right as some sort of make-shift winger (most recently against Barcelona - where he did rather well out of position), and struggled through a dip in form with what seemed like precious little support from anyone and some rather unhelpful public comments from the coaching staff.
At any rate - well done Mesut & Cherub!

Samisut Returns & Random Croezil!

Wait! Who is that Mesut is chatting with?

What is this wetness on my cheek?

For heaven's sake Fabio - don't even try to get between them!

Though flirting with a trio of Portuguese pranksters
is something Mesut doesn't mind at all!

I promised you some random Croezil! It lives! It lives!

But there's nothing like a little Samisut! *sniffle*
National Team Gossip
It's nothing drastic, but the new training kits are out! And they are back to being green - which, I am happy to assure younger Mannschaft fans, is a very lucky colour for Germany! I distinctly remember us tossing the English out on penalties in '90 wearing green and my mother remembers a very happy 1972 for similar reasons!
So - I've arranged the photographs in order as a visual aid - just imagine Mesut's lean gorgeous body, snuzzlable tummy and gorgeously shapely legs stuffed inside these photographs and you should be set!

And to help you along - we have dearest friend on the National team Lukas Podolski - wearing a typically tight jersey as is his wont!

And Finally - Those Idiots At Sanitas...
...Presented Mesut With His New Health-Card!

Mesut was his usual charming self - with a bright smile and a head of hair that...suggests things to me. Should he comb it next time after falling out of bed in the morning? Perhaps not!

And that, my darlings, is all the Mesuty news that is fit to print!
Next game is on Sunday night against Levante (who are still in the Champions League spots in 4th place and who beat Madrid in the first half of the season) at 21:30 local time. Good luck Mesut, good luck boys!

And thanks for the permission to so strategically imagine him in the new kit. ;) I'm not accustomed to the green, being such a huge fan of the black. But hey, if it's a historically lucky color, I'll grow to love it! And I always thought he looked good in his green Werder Bremen jersey so I don't doubt he'll look just as lovely in this.

Mesut looks lovely in Green - and in the photograph above, which is LOVE. I couldn't believe it when I came across it!

AND SAMI'S BACK! :DDDDD I was excited when I saw that on my twitter feed earlier. Oh Fabio and his jealousy. Everyone wants a little Mesut love. HOWEVER: CROZIL MOMENTS FTW. Never enough. Never.
That shade of green is probably my favourite. Reminds me of those green apple flavoured candies, which are definitely my favourite and now I want team pictures of them ~modeling them. Hopefully my wish will be granted soon. ;)

But it's a lovely soothing colour. I know the federation toyed with the idea of red - but teams that play in red are perceived as more aggressive by onlookers and (crucially) by the referees.
Red also gives an impression of speed - but altogether, green is a lovely colour. I'm very interested in the idea of what German football represents at the moment - something light and elegant, and "Apple green" is a lovely thought :)

Not only that, but green is generally a good colour for the majority of people to wear. And this shade reminds me of spring and, like I said, apple candies. SO IT WINS ALL AROUND! :)
Speaking of German football, I should really start watching the Bundesliga at some point. I've just had confirmation that I'm going to Germany next year for a year and it'd be nice to know a bit about the league of the country I'm going to!

The Spanish league is dead and dull by comparison, to be frank. During the recent drought when Spanish teams were dreadful in Europe too (with one exception I won't mention) it was occasionally soul-sucking to watch. I stopped watching for long parts of 2008-09 and 09-10.
Things are better now, obviously.
As for the Bundesliga - I have MANY favourite teams and love watching nearly all of them.

It doesn't merely live, u know? They get up to quite a lot off camera, of course.......in my imagination anyway....kthxbi! ;-)

Oh seeing Croezil also made my day. In fact, seeing that everyone loves Mesut is always pleasant. So, very pleasant.
I was about to make another post a few days ago, but it's not Mesut-centric, but please allow me to share this delightful news to you that finally us, Indonesian Madridistas, will be blessed by their presence this year. They're going to open some football institutions here (10 schools if I'm not wrong), I have no idea whether there'll be a match or not. I'd be frenzied if there will be. *crossing fingers*

Something adorable about him getting pushed too. He seems so small and light compared to the others.
Floppy, messy hair and snuzzlable tummies and that little smile of his <3
