Anyone else hung over?  'Cos seriously, yesterday was like the best sports day of my entire life.

Anyway.

THIS is Mesuty-ness for anyone who questions:

Translation (ish):


"I'm really happy."

"We won (?) and I'm really happy." (really)

"I talked a lot with the boss (mister) and I'm really happy" (REALLY)

"It was really important to win this week"

"Really good.  Kaka is my friend."

(I got fuzzy here- they worked hard and scored a lot of goals, I think)

"REALLY happy."

His Spanish isn't a whole lot better than mine, which helps.  Please do feel free to correct me.

This is what I translated yesterday on my Tumblr. and OMG I love his spanish! It shows his shyness in a whole new level, plus he loves repeating "Soy muy feliz" hahaha <3 probably the first phrase he learned

I watch Mexican telenovelas and I spent several weeks convinced this guy was this woman's father until it turned out they had a son together which confused me, lol.

Though you watch enough post match interviews, you don't really have to speak a language to know what they say. They seriously ALL say the same thing every time...

No, your translation was pretty close, and LOL at the Mexican telenovelas, Mexican spanish (especially the one in the telenovelas) is horrible!!!
and Mesut's post match conferences usually follow the same script, but when he does them in spanish he just repeats Soy muy feliz at least 4 times, I really love hearing him in spanish :) (since I don't understand german)

It's really simplistic Spanish in the telenovelas, and well, the story lines do repeat themselves, which makes it actually really good for learning. I had one 8 week course where they taught you the basics of verbs, etc, and then I literally taught myself Spanish watching them. I get it all with the subtitles on, and about 75% just listening. I've picked up the common words used with football, so I can get what they talk about in the interviews and what players tweet.

I'm just not sure I could make myself understood if I tried to communicate to Spanish speakers, lol.
