Maybe it's because I'm not much of a brand hog (Nike? Addidas? Puma? I don't give a toss. If I need new shoes I just get whichever one is available and the cheapest. In my entire life I think I've only ever own one pair of Puma, and those I got as birthday presents. Never been one to understand how people can fanboy over SHOES) but I didn't notice he'd changed footwear, nor do I think it has any lasting significance. Isn't Addidas officially Madrid's kit supplier? Maybe, since these are exhibition matches in the US, American promoters simply asked that the boys all wear the same brand. He still wears Nike during training, so it sounds like he's simply asked to wear the Addidas in front of the camera (makes for a more collective team image) for the few matches they have over there.
