Ok, at first I LOVED this line... "He is no runner, no strategist, and no fighter. He is a player." And then I realized, yes he is! He runs miles around everybody, he plays so intelligently he's clearly strategizing constantly, and we've all seen him fight... (cue Angry Mesut love). But the author got the next part dead right. He is a player. And man oh man do I love watching him play.

I'm so incredibly happy this GQ shoot happened, despite it's terrible photos. The gif(t)s will last us a lifetime! Some of my absolute favorite examples of his Mesutyness.

And I'm so happy the article's been proved wrong since publication. He's back on his game, full-force, and all of Madrid right down to the press loves him for it. He makes me so proud (and yes, melt).
